Dave Pettigrew has more than 32 years of experience as a licensed general contractor/construction manager. After attending New Mexico State University, Dave’s career started with Mesa Construction Company, where he served as president for 15 years. The majority of his work in New Mexico was in the construction of governmental public works projects.
Upon relocating to San Diego in 1984, Pettigrew founded the company that is known today as Competitive Edge Construction, Inc.; a B-1 and C-33-licensed corporation. Since its inception, the company has completed more than $150 million in construction projects.
Projects overseen by Pettigrew are wide-ranging; they include renovation of commercial properties such as banks, apartment units and athletic fields; as well as the remodel and new construction of residential properties. Other projects completed by Competitive Edge Construction include renovation and construction of churches, academic institutions and low-income housing units.
Under the leadership of Pettigrew, Competitive Edge Construction, Inc. has received awards from the American Institute of Architects and the San Diego American Planning Association. |

Kelly Pettigrew joined Competitive Edge Construction, Inc. in April 2002 as Vice President, bringing with him a wealth of knowledge of structural engineering and contracting.
Kelly received his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering with an emphasis in Structural Engineering from the University of Arizona, Tucson in 1999.
Kelly worked as a project engineer on various construction projects for Sundt Construction Corporation in Tucson, Arizona, for five years. He then worked as a structural engineer for three years on projects that included structural design of concrete tilt-up buildings with panelized roofing systems, masonry public works buildings with wood roofing systems and masonry/concrete retaining structures. Other projects attended to by Pettigrew included: construction defect engineering, field engineering, including site observations on current construction projects; field observation and investigation on wood framed housing, including multi-story condominiums/apartments and engineering analysis of litigated structures.
Kelly currently holds a Professional Engineering license with the state of California. | | |
